WHAT WE DO
The College of Allied Health Sciences, in coordination with its branch campuses and other instructional sites, such as the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) in San Antonio, TX, allows servicemembers to apply their training as well as previously completed coursework toward a recognized, accredited degree opening doors to a successful, fulfilling career in the military and beyond.
Enlisted students are rarely stationed in one place for very long, making academic residency at any one academic institution challenging. We provide students the opportunity to establish academic residency and compile their credits from other academic institutions into a cohesive transcript, allowing them to graduate with a degree that allows them to sit for certification exams and transfers to the private sector.
In the past, despite the extensive training opportunities available to members of the military, when many veterans sought employment in the civilian sector, there was no civilian-equivalent credential to demonstrate their competence and compete for jobs. We award degrees to qualified technicians so they may use the knowledge and skills learned in the military to pursue careers after separating from service. Not only are our students trained exceptionally well for the mission of the DoD on duty, they achieve education for a lifetime of service to their communities and to the nation, long after leaving the military.
